In 2020, the LeBron James Innovation Center, an architectural marvel, is Nike’s epicenter for the development of performance technology and apparel. Seeking to replicate the explorative nature of the newly built hub, a digital environment was born.
Designed to simulate thermal environments, a slider invites users to simulate thermal weather conditions against the fabrics of Nike’s Material’s Lab. The color of the runner is dictated by the input of the site user and lights up in blue when cold and bright pink when hot.
Informed by the non traditional experience of the website, an exciting navigational tool was developed. With life-like animations, the reactive cursor morphs between multiple states, guiding the user through unique chambers of data visualization. By adapting to hover states, pause states, and click states, users can easily understand when to tap, scroll, click, or drag to interact.
A series of mobile explorations condensing Nike’s Patent Wall into floating content cards. Conforming to a small viewport, a new icon is introduced to users acting to “flip” the card where more information is displayed.
